im going to be making my own exhaust system up for the golf
I have a qpeng downpipe that is 2.5" and will keep it 2.5" 63mm throughout
I need a silencer that will work as I only plan to use one silencer before it side exits infront of the rear wheel, I have plenty of room now all the linkages have been removed from the tunnel
anyone have any experiences on silencers and what works and what does not
really need it to fall under the 105db track limits

I will make the rest up with sleeves as its nice and simple

Haven't got a clue mate. But John Ashley could make what ever you need in exhausts, you could even have a re-packable silencer.

I cannot be arsed to trailer a car somewhere for someone to make one up so think im going to build my own it looks simple enough :)

Famous last words:rofl:
If it's only the silencer you need he may not need the car. I'll try and speak to him about but i know he was laid up for a bit with an injury.

after a bit of research I may just buy some stuff but paranoid about db levels with one silencer
i'l fit the biggest one possible :)

I can help trev. I deal with many exhaust component companies Ashley's being one. U r going to struggle to get the db down with just one box on an na engine. U are going to need something like 6" dia and 24" long

its no longer an n/a engine eddy its a 20v turbo from an audi a3 sport with a slighty bigger blower
I have a fair amount of room before it turns. i'l get some decent measurements tomorrow
I was looking at a 6" and 18" long tonight on the net but
if I can go longer I will (sure I can)
