Hi everyone
Evo 2 gsr 1994
So here's the problem. A few months ago the evo would not fire up. After replacing coil packs, still no joy. So I done a hell of a lot of researching on the Internet and concluded the cam angle sensor was at fault. I have just replaced it today (brand new) after a lot of trouble finding one. Guess what? It starts! But only on 2 cylinders.
The problem: car fires on both 2nd and 3rd but NOT on 1st and 4th.
Fuel is getting through but no spark.
1 and 4 both off coil 1 and cyl 2 and 3 both off coil 2 so it seems to be a coil issue but I have replaced that already.
I have:
replaced coil packs(there's 2)
New cam angle sensor(no crank sensor on early 4g63)
Swapped coils around
Swapped plugs and leads around
There is a 12v supply to the non firing coil and what appears to be a 12v trigger too, which I have tested.
I'm at my limit of patience now so any ideas no matter how trivial it may seem are welcomed!
Also if any one has an ecu or cam sensor for an early evo can you let me know please so I may try them.
Thanks, pete
No spark, evo 2 please help me!

Unfortunately it's undrivable due to the problem. Thanks though.
Having done more reading up it could be a possible faulty transistor on the coil? I have a spare that makes no difference when changed. Seems coincidental that they would both be faulty for the same coil. Time to try and test them I guess.
