I'm in the process of running the external extinguisher pull switch/lines and am happy that the lines are long enough (the internal extinguisher pull switch is already plumbed in)

the next step is to mount the internal and external battery cut off switches, I've had a look online and have found some walk through talk throughs on how to wire it all up so that the alternator doesn't get damaged

but the big problem that I've encountered with regards to the external cut off switch is space to actually mount it!

I think the best place would be to mount both external extinguisher and cut off switches in the top passenger side corner of the bonnet, there's enough slack so shouldn't have any problems opening and closing the bonnet but is there any reason why I shouldn't mount them on the bonnet rather than the bulk head of the car?

The only reason I can think of is that your bonnet is hinged and if it came off for any reason, the fire extinguisher and cut out would both go off. Not a biggie I suppose but you could always put a notch in the bonnet and mount the cut offs in the space that you had created on the bulkhead or cut a recess on one of the wings and mount it there?

As long as they are easily reached by a marshall you can't go too far wrong

Not checked the blue book but you may also find that there could be scrutineering issues with securing a cut out switch to a composite panel. Worth checking with the blue book (someone on here is bound to have one and you used to be able to download it from the MSA)

I can't see any reference to cut offs or their location, it will be in there but I'm just looking in the wrong place I'm sure

They need to be on the drivers side near the bottom of the A pillar. If you can, i recommend fitting them into tbe plastic scuttle at the base of the windscreen if that makes sense.

I had intended on fitting them on the plastic scuttle panel but the problem that I encountered was that wiper recess is not deep enough and the plastic is really brittle

Make a little alloy box, or buy one, that can be surface mounted and give you more room, it will alos hide a brittle jagged hole, use silicone around the edges, simples.

Altenatively use the wing and fit a little box so that that pull handles are recessed.
