Stripped Dashboard and MOT

Does anyone know how stripped a dashboard can be to pass an MOT? I understand the speedo and warning lights need to be there.
Main concern is the strengthening bar that runs across the car will be exposed,will they see this as a hazard?

If there are no sharp edges you should be OK. Sasman on here is an MOT tester, as I think, is Jon with the red track Impreza. You could PM either of those guys for help (Sasman ain't on here that often)
All fitted gauges need to work as you say and I think the rest of it is down to a sensible MOT man. What do you have in mind? Is this for the MX5?

Nope, as long as the "tell tale" lights/buzzzers are present for the hazards, indicators, lights etc etc then it'll pass no problem.
As Stuart said it's worth finding a sensible tester who isn't a total jobsworth (plenty of them around

)

Why not keep the dash, strip weight off on the bulkhead and the surrounding areas (including the dash itself) and then have it flocked? Not only will you then be able to track it without the worry of any metalwork shining on the windscreen, or have any possible distractions like wires banging/waving around but it'll look a hell of a lot neater and more pro.
Here's a proper nice race trimmed interior in an SW20 MR2;

Never seen that done looks ace with the colour coded brace, without a seriouse cage its a great option. Is a speedo part of an mot (its not an item i have seen tested ever) my ax was moted without one years ago, the warning light section was cut out and moved i just used a road angel which was much neater for a speedo?
