brake pads recommendation please

Post by pedGSR »

hello guys the time has come to start doing some work on the beemer, first thing being the pisspoor brakes. ive got some braidded hoses and some bigger discs etc to go on. the question is what good all round pads would anyone recommend? i want them to be for everyday use, but also suitable for the occasional track blast that i will be hoping to do next year.

cheers :)

in my opinion mate, for everyday use and occasional track days, EBC yellow stuff are in my book  if it was total track dedication it would be carbotech XP8 pads. but since thats not the case, EBC

Yellows are probably not man enough for a car of that size Dan. I had reds on the Scooby and on the Evo when it had the Brembos and for everyday use found them to be good but a little noisy and dusty. What ever you do don't go for the blues though as they are crap IMO.
The XP8's are superb but a little on the expensive side.

Sorry Dan I'll take that back. I was always lead to believe that it went greens, yellows and then reds but looking at the EBC site the yellows are the fast road, track pads :blush5:
