Fiest XR2i problem

Post by myhay123 »

Hey guys,

I have a little problem with my car, maybe you can advise me.

I have a fiesta xr2i 1.6i 8v and I bought it from a guy that kept it out of the road for 5 years like that. He didn't used it.
I've removed the cylinder head, I milled it (cut) 1mm from it (excuse my English, I may write it wrong but you will understand hehe) I've polished it and fitted back. When I've fitted it back I saw that one injector had no more the nozzle and the engine didn't worked well on high RPM.. from 0-4000 ok, above 4000 no. So I replaced the injectors with BOSCH BMW 325i 160cc and the thing is that now don't work well from 0-3-4000 rpm but in high rpm yes. I can smell gas and some friends told me that the mixture (air-gas) it's rich in gas, due to the injectors. I've also fitted an external fuel pump(don't know the volume, BAR, etc).

Cheers,

If you've enough experience to know what you are doing, then I'd guess at it overfuelling over lower revss? -f you have a rising raite fuel pressure regulator, back it off a bit perhaps, or try smaller fuel injectors? Danny@APT runs a CVH on here, so he might be able to help. -i ve been drinking all night, so am probably no use! Welcome to the club by the way!

Thanks Rob,

I think I will try the smaller injectors. I am waiting for Danny to reply back. The weekend it's coming soon so prepare the aspirin if you will drink again :p
