Sons Toyota Glanza

Not sure if anyone can help or suggest anything my son CHRIS B on here has just spent the last 2 days making his car slower !
Not intensionally I must add......all he has done to my knowledge is fitted a tubular manifold and decat pipe on his Toyota Glanza !
Prior to doing this it would happlily boost to .7 maybe .8 bar but since he has fitted the new manifold and decat pipe it won't boost more than .5 bar and just seems to spool up slower than before......

We have disconneted the battery etc and reconnected it to see if the ECU was restricting it but hasn't made any difference......

The actuator on the wastegate all seems to be working ok etc.....anbd there is no leaks anywhere that we can see......

Basically he has got a face like a smacked arse at the moment (I know that's normal for him most of the time anyway)

But I don't want to spend the weekend looking at it and thouight I would look to you guys for some possible suggestions !

Just one thing ! The catalyst that was fitted on the car had all the guts removed from it so was doing nothing anyway....the only difference that I can see now is the manifold ? It was a standard cast one now its a stainless tubular one......

Any help or thoughts would be appriciated.......

Or PM chris b

And tell him to cheer up....

Cheers guys

Oh the joys of modifying lol. I am sure it will get sorted. It will be a good learning exercise for him.

These cars normally respond quite well to exhaust mods. I fitted manifold and full system to ne of these a few years back and it responded well.
All i can think of is that the so called performance tubular manifold flow worse than the original cast one. It can happen if it is a cheap chinese jobby.

I would put the standard one back on as see if it reverts back to before. Also check to make sure gaskets are on correct.

The actuater on the wastegate was faulty and leaking pressure luckily we had
replacement which Gary fitted and the car was producing a healthy ,,158bhp so smacked

arse face avoided for the rest of the weekend.
