Thanks for the write up Jon, it will be good to see how they perform on track and as you say the wear rate of pad and rotor I have used the RBC Yellow stuff for about a year on road and track with excellent results from cold on road to hot on track and like them very much

I've got the blue stuff pads all round and haven't been all that impressed. It's probably because they don't get hot enough with just driving around town. All the write ups I read said there not noisy

the ones I've got make loads of noise. It was also said you don't get much dust

my wheels are always covered.
For track use there probably great but for road use I'd rather go back to the red stuffs.

Good write up Jon.
Having used the NDX and various other pads before it I think they are easily the best all round pads on the market by a long way.
Tonynos: Which compound Bluestuff do you have? When are where did you buy them from? Plenty of people have mistakenly or have been misled into buying the normal bluestuff compound, which would be noisy and dusty as you describe. The Bluestuff NDX is altogether different.

Jon - good luck with these although i suspect that the blue stuff pads will last one track day for you - take them out at the end of it and compare with the PF Zs and you will see the edges crumbling away and possibly cracks in the material. Hopefully they will not go the way of the 3 guys at snetterton last month who all experienced brake judder.

funny because logan removed his too and went back to carbotech im sure he will come and add his thoughts here
jon looking at what you took out they have done far to much!!,my guess is they seen a good few car wash's or rain?? mine used to blow apart like that till a company told me brake pads really dont like water

Yes, the top range EBC pads are underestimated andn are tarred with the brush of the greenstuffs which are crap really.
I have sold loads of sets of yellows and everyone is pleased and i use them myself. If i needed something more, which i don't in my present cars, i would give some of these new blues a try.
Jon, if i am not mistaken, it looks like your backplates have warped slightly. I do not know what dics/calipers you have, but perhaps with the power/driving style you have you actually need a better brake setup as you seem to be generating alot of heat and that is also contributing to pad material damage.

These pads do seem to be getting some very mixed reviews. I was not at all impressed with them on my K-Sport brakes even after trying to bed them in very very hard. the bite never seems to be there at all. just like blocks of wood.
Went back to Carbotech XP8's and the difference is un-true.

Had an hour spare today to get the rest of the PFz pad deposit of the DBA4000's. I killed 10+ sanding discs and it took well over an hour to do both discs
That shit is super hard to remove!

On the plus side, The pads are now uber brutal with their stopping power now that the deposits are gone

Just my opinion but it certainly pays to reface the discs when new pads are fitted! I can also see why people have complained about judder when fitting the NDX, But without cleaning the discs it's easy to understand why.
