How to clean Radiators and Intercoolers ?

Post by RX7 »

Guys,

Having a play in my enginebay and noticed after using my vented bonnet it being less than tidy there.

Plus the 5 years I have had the car and using it in different conditions have taken its toll.

Therefore I need to clean up the radiator and intercooler. Whats the best way of doing it ? Was planning on taking them out, can you wash them in warm water ? Should I be putting some form of degreaser or shampoo to wash the outside ?

Same with the intercooler, obviously I am letting these fully dry before putting them back in the car etc (gotta sneak them into the house to dry as they wont dry in the garage for months :) )

I have some autosol for polishing the intercooler afterwards but just not sure of the best way to clean it first.

Any help would be appreciated :)
