Bucket seat & 6 point harness fitment

I've just won these on ebay...
The seats are base mounted, But I really don't want the expense of buying the genuine Sparco mounts. I've found some universal items that look like they will do the job. Any problems with fitting these?
Also, I'll be junking my 4 point harness in favour of a 5 or 6 point (what's better)?
I'm guessing that I'll have to drill the floor pan and weld in some reinforcement plates for the eye bolts? Is this correct and where's the best place to weld them in? (under the seat obviously) I mean towards the front or the rear of the seat?

Beware the 6 point. It can do some nasty damage if not 100% fit.

when i bought my harness i had it came with mounting plates, pre threaded that you weld to the fllor of the shell mate, basically 4mm thick steel plates with nuts welded onto them to put the eye bolts into, you shouldn't need to drill or cut anything
i've heard horrid stories about 5 harness that have't been put in just the right place doing some proper gonad damage mate
love those seats though

Nice seats Jon. Are they composite or steel framed?
In terms of fitment, I think the guys have got everything covered. I would strongly suggest buying 3" width rather than 2" if you can afford it (not much extra but a bit more) I have tried the harness point that connects between your legs, but never found them necessary. If the lap belt is fitted properly you stand very little chance of sliding forwards anyway (or at least that's the case in my experience)
The only other thing that I would add is that you should try and bear in mind 'future proofing' your welding work or anything that will affect the shell. Your car is a modern one with years of life left in it. If you butcher the floor pan now, you may regret that in time to come when you're trying to sell it on to someone who wants a standard car.

Tbh, I've no idea whether they are composite or have steel frames. The only info I got from the seller was that they are bottom mounted and came from his 911 track car. I probably should have done more research, But I was pissed when I decided to buy them.
Looking at the posts above, I've decided that however much I love tracktime, I'm not going to muller my nadgers in the process. So I'll invest in new 3

i made the mounts for my seats with my mate who is a proper mechanical engineer so if you have any problems with fit, give me a shout and i'll be happy to help mate

Picked up the seats this morning and after lots of swearing, Grinding, Swearing and a bit more grinding managed to fabricate some brackets to fit the OE seat rails.
A bucket seat is something I should have invested in a long time ago! Fast road cornering feels so much more comfortable with a lot less hanging onto the steering wheel.
Just need to get some 3
