Evo geometry

Post by Gerry H »

I've had to order a set of BC coilovers for the Evo as what's on the car is cr@p and on the verge of collapse.

I've hunted through the MLR site but can't find any settings. I only want to know the standard ride height, as that's where I'll set the new stuff initially.

Also be nice to know recommended geo settings.

Soon would be good as the stuff's arriving tomorrow and will be tested atr Cadwell on Thurs.

Thanks Rob. It's the ride height I'm more concerned with as the idea is to fit the stuff and set the height, then get the geo done. If the ride height is wrong, it'll screw up the geo if I alter it. iyswim? :D

I tried to phone APT but they're mad busy. I was hoping that Gary could supply and fit but he can't do it on Weds.

How are you finding the BC's btw? :)

If I have no luck elsewhere, I'll call APT tomorrow.

As a general rule, you want the ride height so that your track control arms/trailings arms/whatever arms are on an Evo, are close to horizontal i.e. parallel to the ground.

Go too low i.e. beyond the horizontal, and your geometry becomes negatively impacted by the movement of the suspension.

Sounds sensible enough. Thanks for that.

I'll go find a flat bit of road and have a look underneath before starting the job.

That would be great please Lee. It'll give me a starting point so I don't set it too far out.
