AP Racing caliper help

Hi All

I have the opportunity of buying these calipers currently fitted to an E36 and running 330mm discs (but this needs to be confirmed).

Since these are fitted to a 'show car' I don't trust the owner knows anything about them so I want to make sure I'm not buying into an unsuitable caliper. Any ideas which model these are and whether they're suitable for 330x28mm discs run on the front of my E36 M3?

Thanks in advance.

No idea about the model and Google didn't help.

One thing I will mention is that if you and the current owner are using different hub carriers/kingpins etc, you will need to go like for like. The offset of the hub and caliper bolts is different between M3 and all of the other versions.

Beyond that and the replacement cost of the pads and discs that I presume you'll need, I personally would only buy the AP's if they are a great price. I know you'll have shopped around, so this is the time when I'll shut up :)

Cheers for the reply Stu. I completely forgot about the hub/kingpin issue. I was hoping to reuse the bells as the discs look junk and have the calipers fully reconditioned with all new parts. I'll have to consider the costs of having some brackets made up too now.

I wonder if

looks like a CP5200 family caliper........older style judging by the oblong where they used to have a badge "AP Racing" rather than the newer yellow writing....

all parts available for o/haul if needs be

Thanks Alyn.

I'm not sure whether I want the possible ballache with these so I'm going to bid him extra hard in the balls. :love2:

Hi Tommy,

Yup, they look like older CP5200s, as I have on my current Scoob. Am using them with Brembo disks, 325x28mm I think, but I think there are variants for different disks. Value will depend entirely on condition. Mine look 'weathered' but work perfectly so I haven't bothered having them rebuilt yet.
