With Betty going back on the road, I'm faced with the need to source a centre CAT for the car. Never needed it for track stuff whereas K reg cars need one for road legality I think.

Any idea? I thought of the options of borrowing a system for the MOT or some similar arrangement

If you have any links or helpful advice, feel free to chip in. I would like to keep my Supersprint system if at all possible, for normal use.

If you remove the cat from a car that was designed to have one the chances of it passing the emissions test are slim at best! The ECU, Lambda sensors etc are there to keep the emissions at a very tight specified limit.

From the "Honest John" website

"Pretty simple. If the car is a 92J you can remove the cat. If it's a 92K you can't"

With the caveat, if it's not listed in the Vehicle Inspectorate list for cars manufactured between 92 and 95 for emissions, then it does nt need one.
Sorry buddy, you're screwed:(

Whilst the cats eddy is offering are ok you will need to fab a centre section to take them and I would imagine you would 't want to stick a disc cutter through the supersprint to accommodate them. I would just buy a Good used Bmw one and swap it in and out when required IMO of course.
