Hollow steering columns?

Stupid and weird question, does anyone know of a steering column that is hollow.

1946 Hillman Minx, columns hollow because the wiring for the indicators, lights and horn go down the middle and exit at the bottom of the steering box.

lol, try and find one of them in the local scrap yard! - I was hoping for something slightly more recent!

Feeding wires down for steering wheel controls, fabbing one was the next choice

Up to 1994 Jeep Cherokee's have a hollow column as the wires like the hillman run down the column from the switch gear.

They also have Momo steering wheels as standard.

It'll be going in my kit-car, currently got an MG Maestro column but I can pretty much put most in. I am starting to think that I need to get hold of another maestro one so I get the right connection through the front bulkhead to the steering linkage then cut off the bottom, machine out a recess then weld up a hollow circular section for the rest of the column with the bott welded on at the top
