Engine rebuild

Post by mikeb »

After the excellent evening on the track at snetterton after the second session the engine started to breath very heavy with oil
coming out the bonnet vent and up the windscreen from the catch tank.
But it was still going like the stink so carried on.
Got the engine out thursday and bob at bgv who builds the engine picked it up friday,
So today we stripped it down as far as the block. Found a little bit of det on number three.
The problem was the piston rings, So a new set are being picked up monday.
Rest of the engine looks spot on. the engine should be back with me wednesday, going to put new exhaust manifold on which is a proper equal lenghth manifold with a smaller diameter up pipe to turbo for quicker spool up. so looks like the season is back on.
And if all goes well will be at goodwood, who else is entered

Bugger!

Er, good to hear the car will be fine and probably even stronger, for Goodwood.

PS can you ask your Q about who's going, in the Goodwood sprint thread,
in the sprint section.
