KYB Shocks info..........

Post by mad dad »

Hi there, just thought i would post that following the purchase of 4 KYB shocks 3 months ago i had problems with the rears especially the N/S......found out today i was sent the wrong shocks as the thread at the top (where it goes through the top mount) is about 6mm short hence tightening is difficult!!!......so if you have an early 2003 STI (blobeye) according to KYB you need part No 321004 and 005 not 008 and 009 as i was originally sent........................best to check with KYB as they were really helpful..........i have 2 new rears being delivered tomorrow so hopefully that will sort out knocking etc...it did take 2 months for the knocking to start as this was'nt picked up when they were fitted....

Perhaps the missing 6mm prevented the locking part of the nut to engage sufficiently with the shaft thread. So although tightened, it was able to gradually loosen.
