Driver training

Sorry if this has been asked a million times before.

As the title suggests, I'm after some advice on tuition. Three of us from Scoobycity had a day out at Snett yesterday and two of us were using GPS lap timing. Before i get flamed for this, the lap timing was done from an 3G Iphone which was safley stored in my jeans pocket and wasn't removed until i was back in the garage. The times we had were very consistent, But no matter how hard i tried i couldn't improve my results (very frustrating). I can only put this down to the need for tuition. At the end of the day i was trying so hard i managed a 540 degree spin and nearly rolled after the wheels dug into the grass. I would prefer for this not to happen again as it scared the bejesus out of me :o We all had a 20 minute session from the instructor which was fantastic, But there is only so much you can learn in 20 minutes.
I/We plan on mainly driving Snett, So an intructor who could spend the day with us there would be ideal.
Who do you guys/girls use for track teachings?

I'd be rather pleased if my times were so consistent they didn't improve.

I understand that consistency is a good thing, But this was the norm...

But i spent the rest of the afternoon chasing this...

What i'm struggling with is if i can do a 1:25 one time only, Why on earth couldn't i get close to it again? Surely it's not possible to have the perfect lap only once and by that much margin? And if so I'm looking for some training to show me what i did so right that one time. It's driving me mad :x

Youll be surprised Jon, your cornering lines and braking points will vary from lap to lap and levels of concerntration, it's hard to keep consistant times. The 1:25 was you chasing someone?

The thing is Daniel i was very consistant throughout, The laps were always within a few seconds of each other? Thats what i'm finding hard to understand. I was chasing an Ariel Atom for 10 laps or so and have footage on youtube but all the laps were 1:28ish+ ( I've checked ) Maybe it was a dodgy GPS signal that gave me that time  ?

My 1.25 lap yesterday was one of the only clear laps that i got the whole day... just after lunch before the sun came out, spent most of the other laps stuck behind someone or moving over for the ferrari/porsches

My lap was also within 20 minutes of yours - i suspect when conditions were at their best, just after lunch on a quiet track. As with your other laps, mine were consistenly 1.28 too and i couldn't get near it again after that :(

p.s. i'd love a whole day of instruction, its just soo expensive! I'd also like to lend my car to Duncan/Stuart to see what someone who can drive would do it in! Probably a 1.20 knowing those two

humm true, on second look the times really are bunched up. Well as you say it could be a dodgy gps signal :?

Could well be but two dodgy signals within 20 mins of each other and only once on a whole day?

I bloomin hope its not faulty as im well proud!
