Track tyres HELP

Running 245/40/18 on a 95 M5 bmw saloon, i can only find toyo888s in this size. Can i fit 235/45/18s ??

Of course a 235/45 will fit, but it's overall diameter will be a bit more so will change the height/gearing of the car.
Why not go for a 235/40 which will bring the gearing/height down (2.5mm less rolling radius) which is better and according to my bible gives only 6mm less width. If you are going for R888 or similar you should still have enough grip.
