Doctor Gary HELP

Post by pablo »

we took the pistons out of the track car (TC) and we have measured them against
the spare (SP) pistons we have that have come out the spare engine
we have compared them to the standard (ST) size in the book

ST 92.97mm
TC 92.48mm
SP 93.47mm

then bart had a idea and went and measured the bore of the block and this came
out with again some strainge figures

ST 93.03mm
TC 93.03mm
SP 94.07mm

not really sure why there is undersize pistons in a standard block but may account for the
burning of oil on top of the pistons. Are we right to think this at all.

we are thinking of using the spare pistons in the track car block
would this be feasable.

hi mate

id say if the over size pistons are ok then use them with a new set of rings and get your old block bored to correct size

i would mpre say old pistons are oval rather than under size

we thought that mate but we measured it all the way round and it comes out
at the same size so not oval.

Thank you for the advice mate.
