After about 2.5 hours the old sensor was finally removed and replaced with a new one from Subaru (defo not cheap!!) anyway the cel has now gone out but my silly question is.........will the car need a few miles to "settle" as it has been running in "safe" mood for the last 3 weeks or should it remember all the ecu settings and run normal straight away....probably a silly question but someone has to ask them  Cheers

after being run a few times the ECU will 'learn' that it now has the correct readings and adjust accordingly but personally would get a re-set done to sort properly..............

Does disconnecting the battery, for a few hours, reset the ecu on newage, like it does on the classics?

Got to be done via OBDII port on newage. If you were near me i would do it for you FOC no worries. Perhaps if you ask nicely someone near you might do it as it only takes a couple of seconds once plugged in, and well worth doing.
This is the very same service a Subaru stealership will charge you between

Andy - it will re-learn quite quickly.
If you are passing this area I can reset it for you though.

Cheers stockcar.....i am quite often up as far as Scotch Corner but then turn off to go to Cumbria....but then you are not much further so could probably go across the A69 to Carlisle for anything else in the future...Thanks

Car suddenly seemed to be running a lot smoother and more responsive when i went out in it yesterday so hopefully the ecu has woken up and is doing what you told it to Duncan:lol: will be interesting to get it on the rollers now at APT on 16th and see whats happening........
