Guys

Am moving on slowly but surely with the dismantling of the Manta to the point I expect within the next couple of weeks will start the welding.
If you have seen my project thread you will see that i am going to need to fabricate a new floor pan among other things.
What gauge steel should I use for this?

I am probably going to need to fabricate inner sills and inner wheel arches (unless i find a set for sale) would I use the same gauge steel?

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks

Suzy

Even Wilco sell repair patches, but for the quantity you need yes one of the factors will be best lol.

As for advice on guage/thickness i thing Chris at H Tech will be the man to ask.

I would say 20 SWG 0.9mm for general repairs
And for structural parts go a bit heavier like 18SWG 1.2mm
If you want the pannel to have a better life span try to buy Zintec coated, a bit like a galv coating but you can weld through it safely and nicely. The sheet wont rust stored in you garages or on the car before paint.
