Rev Limits

What are the main factors that govern how high an engine can safely rev to.

Basically I am exploring the possibility of raising the rev limit of the car. The car does not have an ecu and has a mechanical rev limiter in the dizzy to cut the spark. I am aware that this would need to be modified or replaced.

Who you been talking to Gerry

I have looked into this in some depth but I always like to get as much information from different sources to aid me in making an informed decision.
