Plastic sheeting on doors?

Post by Dill »

Just removed my door cards to trim them for a better fit arund the cage.
There is a plastic film on the door sealed on by that horrible black stuff that doesn't 'go off' and ,makes a mess.
Whats the plastic for? dust? damp? was going to just get rid of it before I put trim back on.

cheers

On skylines it's a white goo - I reckon it's some kind of waterproofing, rattle deadining affair.

If your car is going to see daily work, I would leave it in place Phil. It is a pain in the arse but damned handy in the long run.

Not exactly going to save much weight now, are we? :D ;)

Leave it mate, protects the door card from moisture. Renaults and rovers are the worst for sticky stuff! We get a serious telling off if we damage these at work.
