Hey guy's

As some of you may have seen have just bought myself an Opel Manta as a project car.

She is currently running Weber Twin 40 DCOE carbs,as pointed out in main project thread there is no induction/air filter system in place (see pic below will try post better pic when car arrives).

Have done some research on this and appears to be three schools of thought and not sure which is correct so hoping you can help. As you can see appears to be incredibly tight in front of inlets nearest windscreen next to brake servo. The options i have found are

1. Fit trumpet type system with no filter on (concerned carbs/engine will end up full of muck etc)

2. Individual filter for each inlet

3. One system with some kind of induction box over carbs to one filter at front of the car.

All advice on this gratefully received.

You need an angled trumpet that lengthened these upwards (increases torque too) then a combined K&N over them all.

Unfiltered Webers are a good source of underbonnet fires if the engine misfires on starting.

Looks very tight by the brake reservoir.
Agree with above, will have to be Socks (not Jays white ones) or Pipercross 600 series backplate/filter system.
Any Pipercross dealers on here lol

I think both of those are designed for a single dcoe so a pair will foul each other. Also pretty sure they will not fit between the rear carb and the brake reservoir by the looks of it.

It'll only take a phone call. There's loads if you google 'DCOE pancake filter'

Yup want to get something on there asap. Going to get the compression and running checked out by a pro asap to make sure she's running ok and no probs.

Not wanting to sound daft but do I need to get anything else to go with the socks to get them to fit as want to get something on asap, and don't want to find need to put something else on beforehand to do the job.
