So, whats the craic??
When are they releasing one for your Duncan, I thought they had all newage covered?? When I went last May to see Mr Simpson he said only MY99-00 wasn't covered as the market was realtively small....as I was keen to get one, but due to timing I went for a 2nd hand Gems unit.
The Simtek seems like a good step up from the Gems!
Will your OEM ECU not cope with a big turbo etc??
NEW SIMTEK ECU -maybe - maybe not??
There isnt a drive by wire version at the moment. When I spoke to Steve a few weeks back he was working to get this released before the start of the rally season in april for some 06 scoobies he has.
The std ecu will cope with it but when power levels get high, the mapping of it becomes harder and harder and more time consuming.
Simtek appeals for the live mapping, the high resolution 3d boost mapping, potentially 8 completely different map sets and the extra bits that really are there for show like ALS, launch control, flat shifting etc.

One important (to me anyway) question I didn't ask him was, when the revs hit the limiter, does it cut fuel or ignition. I do hope it's not fuel.
Any idea or do I have to phone him again?
BTW have you seen the thread on S/net started by David at API?

Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or hump it, piss on it and walk away!
