i drove it yesterday and it ran great got to the house and parked it with no worry's, now no start, it turns over fine but sounds like its not getting fire would the coil packs just go like that with no warning? i checked all the fuses and they were all good, you can hear the fuel pump kick on.all the lights, guages, power fc, turbo timer all kicks on like normal ... does anybody know of somthing else that would just go out from sitting overnight like that? thanks heath

Well mate,
It is a long shot, but mine had this symptom recently and it was a bad connection on the Crank Angle Sensor plug so was getting no spark.
Check this and other connection/earths in the ignition system.
You make have to take your plugs out and clean them too as you may have fouled them trying to start it.
Hope you sort it mate.

If there are no fault codes popping up then it's worth doing a simple check to see if it's getting fuel. Get yourself a can of EZ-start and spray that into the intake as you crank. If the engine starts with EZ-start then your ignition side is working fine and the problem is on the fuel side.

Well, if the you can here the fuel pump then what you can do next is check the plugs. When you pull them sniff them to see if they are getting fuel. If that checks out good then your getting fuel and you have a spark problem. Check each plug individually for color, corrosion etc.. (best to do it when you sniff them). Then test each one individually for spark, if no spark then check the electrode inside the coilpack itself. That may have worn down enough to not transfer the current and no spark. If thats ok then it could be your crank angle sensor which is what happened with mine a while back. The stock one sucks and tends to go out. It is a bit pricy though, I think I paid aroun $400 USD for my new one. I'm at work right now but if you need help let me know.

Is there not a cheap and easy way to reset the ECU on one of those?
I find it's the quickest way to sort out a multitude of sins, and if it isn't working after that then it's most likely a hardware issue like a sensor fault.

Matter of interest ... sounds like mine ..

I've had this twice - running previous day - then dead.

First time was simply a loose earth lead ... check all the contacts, clean if required.

Second time turned out to be the CAS, Gary replaced the CAS and the car has been fine since. When it's turning over, does it sound normal apart from the fact it's not firing up?.

Could also be the ignition amplifier that has failed.

It might sound silly but check your battery? You said you put some luggage in the boot? Thats where your battery is. I doubt its this but worth a look?
