fitting short shift on 32

Post by mirage »

anyone know how hard/easy it is to fit a short shifter kit to and r32 gtr?

is it an easy job to do yourself or is it best left to an expert?

I have done one on the R33 and its not too bad with a bit of patience and a good pair of circlip plyers.

i didn't have much luck with a short shifter, it generated a crunch in 4th gear, it messes some gear boxes up. Keep the stock one just incase.

Mucked about with my gtst one a lot , the cheap ebay ones can be made to work ok with the fabrication of a new bush they are a little rough and ready , fine for track use but wont stand up to lots of road use , i've recently fitted a NISMO item and thats very nice , not much shorter than stock but they have made a nice positive shifter with a lovely action
