Fuel Cut, detonation, or pinging on CA18DET

My CA was running decent, but it was time for a sparkplug change. The car had cold plugs in, but I replaced them with regular stock plugs. Now anywhere near 4500 rpm or over I get either fuel cut, detonation, or pinging. It just will stumble quite a bit. The car was not doing this before the plugs or even right after the plugs.. It started about 20 minutes into a drive and only happens at mid to high RPMS.. Could this be strictly my replacing the cold plugs with stock plugs?? I am so confused because when I checked my plugs they looked terrible! That's the reason I put stock plugs in. I have been looking into new plugs now does anyone have any suggestions about which to buy and/or where to buy them from, and should this solve my problem?? If not what's wrong!!!

Cheers and thank you for your help!!

What sort of spec are you running? If you have used std plugs and the map is a little out you may have melted or broken a plug tip. Have you had the plugs out to check them? Not sure what plugs are needed for the CA.

EDIT: Just checked, NGK BCPR7ES are suggested on the SXOC for stage 1 CA's :)

Have you gapped the new plugs?

Sounds like you could be blowing out the spark.

4500rpm is well into max boost which is the most difficult mixture to ignite, so any plug problem will show up here. Try closing the gap slightly, and make sure that the springs / carbon brushs are in the coil packs - mine were always trying to fall out whenever I took them off.

Good luck
