HELP!!!!

This is now starting to really p*ss me off and is starting to get to me :x

As some of you know i've got a slight boost issue (car only boosting at .5 bar)

It was caused or i thought it was, by some split hoses linking the boost control solenoid, actuator and compressor housing all via a t-piece.
I replaced them with what i thought like for like some silicone hose, however this is where the problem started
I learnt that in one of those hoses was a small brass restrictor that regulated the boost, so eventually subaru ordered in the correct parts i needed (albeit the hose looked a touch short)
I inserted the restrictor in the hose tonight and then fitted said hose to car..

Now this is where ive had fun and games i fitted the hose so it came off the compressor side, (both ways round as when i blew in the hose one way allowed more air than the other) i've also fitted it coming off actuator side pipe as subaru really didnt help with where to put the hose  Reset the ecu both times and still doesnt feel right..

Now upon inspection after the 2nd attempt my turbo itself was smoking :!: :o

After sh*tting myself and getting a mate to check behind the car, we concluded there must be an oil leak onto the turbo. Would this affect the boost in said way?? Another area i looked at is the brass t-piece i used as the plastic one disintegrated upon removing original hoses. Could this be another area i should be looking at and replace with a plastic one as before.

Sorry for the essay but i thought with the amount of scooby owners on here someone might be able to help :!: :?:

Andy - I would take it to Gary's or clive atthowe's place to get them to look at it before any damage is done.

Sounds like you are getting on risky ground here mate with turbo's smoking etc!

You really need to know what you are up to when fitting restrictors etc, get yourself a proper service manual for the car (wish one existed for mine!!) and study it first or just take it to a professsional as Dunc has said!

the restrictor normally sits in the pipe from the turbo nose, just before the t-piece / straight across the 't' the pipe should lead to the actuator and the other should go to the boost solenoid on the inner wing................

when does the car smoke??
have you over-filled with oil??
i would also suggest a compression check as they are known to have piston problems

:D Ive kind of fixed it :!: well almost
After spending 6 hours under the bonnet today and trying various things while looking at Jaynes car and stuff ive finally got it to boost!!!!!
Well its almost there it just keeps cutting now on higher up the rev range, so tomorrow i shall connect to boost control solenoid and see if that works, if not then the restrictor is too small allowing more psi, so off to subaru to get a smaller one
But the plus note is i fixed it

Im not as useless as i first thought
