I,d like to paint my cambelt, rocker and spark plug covers on my engine. Are they easy to remove, a simple unbolt job :?:

the 200 ones are, im guessing yours arnt too diferent.
The only things to watch for are: on the 200 there are crappy philips head bolts holding the cam covers on and if theyre sticky its easy to round the heads out of them and theres a rubber gakget on the cam covers that if its getting old may have started to perish and disturbing it might cause a bit of oil seepage after you but things back together, depends how old it is.
The spark plug cover should be no trouble at all, and i think the cambelt cover has a small rubber gasket but its nothing to worry about.

Yes Darren,
Don't miss the bolts down the back of the centre cover and mark your timing on the front before removal of the front cover. Also make sure the cam covers are clean inside before they go back on ok.

Thanks

Got the spark plug cover off, a bit fiddly but not too bad a job. Just sprayed with primer, should be painted sometime this afternoon.

Make sure you use VHT paint because they do get bloody roasting!!
When you remove the cam covers like Eddy said scratch the outline of the screws on the CAS as if you mark it on the cover you will forget and spray over the marks!!

If you can get them powder coated. They look great and are easy to look after and are heat resistant.
