Done quite a lot of mooching about looking for an answer to this question but would appreciate your opinions please....
What would you recommend I set my DEFI oil temperature warning buzzer to whilst on a track day?
Car is an MY06 2.5 STi.
Ta very much!

Depends on the oil you are using - I use Miler 10/60 and set my oil temp warning at 120C

I knew I should have mentioned the oil I'm using in my original post....doh! :-D
It's Silkolene Pro S 10W-50.....would 120C be OK as the warning level using this do you think?

I am not familiar with the operating range of that oil - but 120C is fine for mine and sure it will be for that oil.
130C is a problem.
If you are changing oil frequently then it shouldnt be a problem. My oil gets changed before major track days or 5000 miles whichever is longer.

Thanks for that.
Have to admit I'm only running 5000 miles between oil changes too....rather safe than sorry and all that!

When/where's your next track day Rill?
Are you up for our August Snetterton evening?

I'll be at Elvington next Sunday (1st July).
I'd love to join you at Snetterton but according to the AA website it's a 3 hour 18 minute trip from my house....probably a little too far for an evening event. :-D

My oil temps reach nearly 130.C on track, so I change the oil straight after. I am using the same Silkolens Pro S 10W/50 too.
