From my reading I would go for the Yoko's as I have heard that the sidewalls of the R888's are soft as, and this will not be great. especially as you are used to the handling on RE070's.

And considering you are doing flying laps you may find especially if its hot that the R888's are starting to go off on the flying lap.

I would look at what the top pro's are running, alos I am sure you can spec the AO48's as a soft compound so if you can get em for that price I think its a no brainer!

From what I've heard the A048Rs are the ones to go for if they do them in your size.

If you aren't expecting them to last more than a couple of trackdays then it might be worth getting the Yokos, using them until they wear out and then get a set of Toyos to compare!

Are Toyo a sponsor tho???? I know for the Sprint series there is an extra incentive to run Toyo tyres as they have anotehr prize available, so I wouldn't be swayed by that....

Toyo are a sponsor and those are competitor prices for the tyres :o

I am not aware of any extra prize money from toyo but that isnt something I would really get anywhere near anyway :D

yep - can get them in 235/45/17 same as the toyo

This is a little wider than the current 225/45 i am running but the same as they spec in Japan for my car.

Swaying towards Yokohama's purely from the money point of view and see what they are like. Ultimately they probably wont make much of a difference to my times around that place but would love to see whether are worth a go.

Are there any others to throw into the mix such as Dunlop ?

I would stick with the Yoko's Dunk for that money. My Dunlops (Formula R's) are excellent but dearer again. Oh yeah. They will make a difference. You just wait and see.
