Lighting problem

Post by boxy »

I appear to have lost my back lights on the skyline. They work when you brake but not with the lights switched on. I have checked all fuses and they are OK. Does anyone know a relay which might be at fault?

I'll gladly give you directions of where to look if you have a copy of the wiring diagrams. But the r33 link in the manuals section above seems to be dead.

In the mean time, it sounds silly but just be sure the bulbs haven't all blown simultaneously, stranger things have happened. Check if the brake light/tail share a common earth (i cant remember if the r33 has twin filament bulbs in which cae they do). Perhaps even try flicking the headlights on and off a few times with a friend watching to see if the contacts are grubby on your switch.

I can't really suggest alot more without the diagrams, but if you have them. PM me and I'll get back to you.

I will check the service manual I have on CD for the wiring diagrams. The bulds are fine as they are all dual fillaments and come on when the brakes are applied.
