anyone know what thread the std sump plug is?

I am wanting to replace the standard sump plug with a banjo fitting and fit a drain hose from the catch can to the sump plug using aeroquip hose.

Any idea where I would get the banjo bolt/sump plug from?

Do any of our suppliers supply Aeroquip hose and fittings?

Does the sump plug need.....

.......any adaptors for G-loading, temp, GPS, pressure or any other kind of datalogging bosses fitted ???

Just checking as that might narrow down the suppliers........

McLaren
Williams
Jordan
Prodrive

.........only ones I can think of right now but they are all relatively local !!!

:D :D :D :D

Guys, this is a proper solution to the oil throw issue that i have.

No datalogging purposes
No sensors
No G loading

Problem:

This has been an ongoing issue with my car (actually probably the only ongoing issue) and goes like this....

When experiencing sustained G right hand corners on track such as Coram or Luffield, The baffled region in the block is fed from a pipe that goes under the oil level in the sump, I guess the idea is that oil caught by the baffle returns to the sump. However, on hard launches or sustained cornering the outgoing blowby gas can take with it a drainpipe load of oil with it.

This oil is gulped out to my catch can rather than into the intake manifold as in the std arrangement (which is what I wanted). However, If I do more laps than the capacity of the catch can, it fills up and starts blowing oil straight out of the breather pipe under the car and onto the track.... not ideal for me as it caused me to spin on it at Snetterton or could/would do the same for others :(

Solution:

A different and a lot bigger catch can is needed with 4 inputs and a drain hole at the bottom.

The drain hole will feed the collected oil back to the sump where is is free to re-circulate via an aeroquip hose fed to a banjo fitting on the sump plug.

I have found out the fittings required for the drain pipe/bolt:
1x BA7-M20-10 Banjo adaptor M20 Bore x -10JIC
1x BBA2-105 M20x1.5 Alloy Banjo Bolt
1x FBS1600 1" ID Firesleave (optional depending on routing of hose)
1x -10 braided hose to length
2x dowty seal washers for the Banjo Bolt

Any of our suppliers get this gear?

This will be fed by a Roger Clark Motorsport 2.6 Litre Catch can with 3 inputs, 1 large bore breather and drain plug mounted to the left hand chassis rail.

This will once and for all sort the problem as it is annoying me now.
