i would go DOT4.

do you have braided lines?

doesn't it have anything to do with silicone in 5.1?

I must admit that I always used 5.1 in all of the cars until someone said 'just stick to Castrol Response' so I did and I've never looked back. I do drive my cars quite hard, whether on the track or the road and I've been happy with my decision. I have no idea whether its dot anything but at least having a brand name makes it easy enough to get hold of.

I'm sure someone like Alyn at ASP will be more informative and he can certainly do you a good deal on it.

Motul RBF 600 fluid if you are going near a track/spirited driving ;) or equiv or 5.1 for standard road use.

well the celica is going on track on the 13th (the snetterton evening) so i'm going to be doing discs and pads next weekend and brake fluid (and some other bits) so want a decent fluid for it  i will have standard brake lines

i thought 5.1 was the only thing to use on jap cars. i have just done a complete brake fluid change and just used the halfords 5.1 and i must say the brakes have never felt so good. my old fluid was abit manky.
