There are and have been several 600+ Skylines* running around on standard boxes for years, it seems to be down to how you change gear rather than the power although I guess luck comes into it too.

The 1,2,3 gearsets are supposed to be very good though but justifying the cost is something only you can decide upon. You could do a lot worse than PM max1. He knows the intimate details about R32's and killing gearboxes first hand.

Best of luck. Me? I would keep using standard boxes, don't rush the shifts and put up with the bill of a used standard replacement as and when, but then I'm on a budget. If your pockets are deep enough then buying a seriously uprated gearbox can always be sold seperately in the future offsetting some of the cost.

*Rocket Ronnie used a standard box for a couple of years and he was blessed with mucho BHP.

What kind of boost difference are we talking about to have a difference of 150BHP between high and low boost!!?

Do you use it on the drag strip or what kind of use are you doing?
