Bit more involved than that.

I took some in-car video at Marham and thought it a good idea to post it up.

First problem, I connect the camera to the computer via. USB and nothing happens doesn't even aknowledge the connection.

I put it onto a DVD using the TV recorder but the computer doesn't recognise the dvd although it plays back on the TV.

If someone can give me pointers on what to do with the above, I'll then try to upload it to a hosting site.

Looks like I'm making the 'Stupid Question' section my own

I have a DVD drive & recorder but in the recorder the PC says the drive is not accessible, incorrect function.

In the DVD ROM it doesn't even see a disc????????

can we establish the type of camera?

is it a DV camcorder?

is it a stills camera that can take video footage?

also, do you know what format the discs was burned in?

what software did you use?

Camera is Canon DV Camcorder.

The disc was burned on a Philips DVD recorder. Don't know the format as the PC can't see the disc, let alone the file extension.

There's a couple of early laps with a white MR2 in it :-D

Yes but can't find the cable.

Just had a read through the recorder manual and it may be the recording is too short.

I'll try again in the morning for the suggested solutions and, see if I can find that cable :-D

Thanks for your help guys.

to down load and edit DV footage "un-compressed" you need one of these... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/8-Port-USB-2-0-Fi ... dZViewItem

and one of these... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-1-meter-6-pin ... dZViewItem

this will plug into your camera and will allow you to upload it with excellent quality.

then using editing software like pinnacle, you can then burn it onto disc in DVD format or as an Mpeg file or AVI file or windows merdia file or even a realplayer file ( and more!!! )

thats the best way to get results.

then you want to set up a google video account and you can upload video's in excess of 100mb

*edit*

ok you got one, thats good. buy another cable for a few quid and it will be fine.

http://www.streetfire.net can upload upto 500meg files and you don't have to sign up either!! :D

Thanks JJ that's great. Just read through and I need to finalise the disc, which I'm doing now.

Recently bought the dvd recorder (TV) and not had much time to use it.

OK Just tried the dvd again and it's playing on the PC :-D

I'll try the upload tomorrow.

Thanks again
