Has any one got any views on there mapping skills? I know the company I wanted to map my NA cosworth can

Dave Walker has been tuning cars since petrol was invented. He has been technical editor of so many magazines (CCC, Practical Performance Car and a good few others) I think I'm right in saying that the Emerald ECU is actually their product. For that car, I would say you would be in very good hands indeed. I've met Dave a few times and whilst he and Karl are most definitely old school, I found them charming, knowledgable and in the realms of tuners/mappers in the UK, they must rank as amongst the most experienced.........and that's before you factor in the small detail that you already have their proprietory ECU fitted.

There can be no-one better to map your car than Dave as he designed the ECU... his expertise is one of the highest in the country. Beware though, he has a huge waiting list, i was told he is full until April apart from the odd power run here and there.

Bit late and just generally repeating what everybody else has said but...

Emerald/Dave Walker are really good people Very busy though (I know of a car that's been there a few weeks waiting to be re-tuned on their K3 ECU to run on stock sensors rather than trigger wheel) but rewarding results!

Dave has been very accomodating to not just my car but a few others as well. Mine just really didn't want to be RR mapped (lets just say it threw everything including the kitchen sink NOT to get mapped) and had to be re-scheduled on more than two occasions. The point is, he will try and work with you

If you got the K3 it also has self tune if you have wideband installed If not, ask Dave what the new features are and whether you want to upgrade

I have met the guy a few times and have to say he is a top bloke and really knows his stuff.
What would people reccomend then between the conventional power FC and his emerald one?
What are the pros and cons?

I'm booked in but earliest is May so sadly just playing the waiting game! I missed a cancellation slot Friday because I couldn't sort a car transporter quick enough! Guttered!! Not up graded to the new K3 as the EGT they picked is

does emerald ecu use standard cas trigger as most aftermarket ecus we know of cant use the standard 360 degree sensor
