stupid question but does the front mount option affect the cooling effect of the air on the radiator as in most installations it is blocking the sir flow to the rad?

Quick answer - Yes it will affect the cooling abilities.
But; it is a question of how much. Most intercooler cores have nice big fins, allowing plenty of air to pass through. + consider the volume of air passing through the area when at speed - It is not like the IC will be heating all the air going to the rad.
Also you will no doubt have a AC rad sat in front of the coolant rad currently. I chose to ditch this for my IC and the sake of air flow.
Benefit outweighs any drawback, IMO, and if built correctly your coolant system will still be fine

lol tony
not considering it for mine at the moment - just one of those questions that made me think....
bit like:
- do fish sweat if the're hot?
- what do plain clothed policeman wear on their day off?
- what did the guy who invented the drawing board go back to when he got the design wrong?
- if you drove a car at the speed of light and put the lights on, would they work?
??
