Just a quick glimpse at the unconventional!! I know it's not to everyone's taste, but this amount of power through the front wheels in a car that is sub 1000kg certainly is alot of fun.
For those that don't know, it is a Ford CVH, 1600cc 8-Valve. 132bhp standard, slightly more now!! It has a standard Crank and runs a GT30 on a standard Exhaust Manifold.

I wondered when this dyno sheet would raise its head

I've always meant to ask (and always forget) what fuel system and engine management do you use? Just being nosey.
Great figures and I think anyone using this site will appreciate the power, if not the engineering prowess it takes to get such a high specific output from a CVH.
Well done Christian.

Holy moly, that is some output
What is it like to drive?

Almost 3 times standard power is a great achievement, well done, top marks :-D
You should get your car in the club garage, I would love to see some closer specs.
It must be a real handful. I remember a friend having an RST, no where near as much power as yours, and it was very difficult to get traction - even in 3rd if damp

How do you find it?

Glad to see its making good power Christian,
that must be mental to drive,
BTW are you and Gary gonna do a remake of video of you two at brunters ? Would the ending be any different now ?

It's interesting to drive and whilst there are car's that would be faster round a track etc, it really does get the adrenaline going.

I will post a detailed spec in the garage when I get time. It spins 3rd in the dry and 4th is interesting too if the roads are even cold/damp.

Well, funny you should say that. We had this very same conversation the other day and ended up on the subject of Power @ Wheels vs Weight and they come out very similar at the moment, about 320bhp per tonne (at the wheels) according to our calculations. So, who knows the outcome. Of course that is until Gary decides to run proper boost. LOL.

The last silly RST i was out in was Gadgets black S2 running circa 285bhp.. that was insane... 350+ is mental....
Id of liked to have seen this run agains SOY, James Bentleys old S2 just to se how they compare.
This is a fantastic acheivement on a 1600CVH, although i personally always favoured an all steel 1600 over the taller 1900 and 2.1 ZVH conversions.
You must be nearing the flow limits of the stock exhaust manifold now though mate.. do you have any plans on changing it so a tubular one?
God i love this car, a great result at this years Daddy Thrash IV too mate

Very impressive power figures for a 1600! GT30 must be well matched, must pull like a bitch above 4800rpm. Is it still the same CVH block or have you gone 'ZVH'?
