i have a second hand 60mm blitz boost gauge to replace the one already fitted in my car, i took the other one out the A pillar pod and wired up the back lighting and pushed the hose on, only to find the needle bouncing, it does work but the needle is constantly flickering, does it sound like the gauge is knackered or do they need some kind of stabiliser or something, sorry for sounding thick, Tk

i think that depends on how much its bouncing. my boost gauge twitches between -18 and -20in/Hg on idle, whereas my EBC is rock solid.

so, how much is the needle flickering? it could just be reading the vacuum in your inlet manifold as each cylinder takes a breath. sounds plausible to me :)

its a constant flicker bouncing around 10-15mm either side of where it should be

Some boost gauges need a little restricter fitted in the pipe.
It reduces a 5mm pipe down to 1mm in some cases.
This cause the needle to become more steady.
