GTR Seats

Post by slaphead »

Does anyone know if it is possible to lower the drivers seat in an R32 GTR ?

I found out at the track day that I have a certain lack of headroom when wearing a crash helmet - to wit I had to shuffle my not inconsiderable butt well forward in the seat to get my head in - I don't know if there is an after market seat that might give me the extra room I need - the other option of course is costly and involves extensive liposuction

My Recaros are considerably lower than the stock GTR seats Mark. They do make it fun getting in and out mind you :).

I'm sure there are others which are lower aswell.

Or maybe you could just recline your seat Mark? I have a similar problem with too much length and girth ( ;) ) and find the only comfortable solution is to wind the chair back.

I am tempted to steal Niks chairs when we next meet or at least do a swapsie for my buckled, knackered ones with an interesting patina on the drivers seat cushion.

No chance I'm afraid Stu. I love the Recaros.

I still have to wind the seat back when I have my hair up lol, but then I like a more laid back driving position anyway.

I did try that on the day - the result was somewhat horizontal to say the least - it is something I will revisit in an attempt to find a notch in the seat adjustment between 75deg and the next one down at 30deg - where my stubby arms can still reach the wheel

- I must admit I am tempted to try Niks seat out (if he's feeling generous/foolhardy) and see if it does the job. I will say that I have toyed with the Idea of throwing the rails out and going for a seat in one position to see if that gives any benefit head room wise

Cheers for the suggestions so far guys.
