Importing from the states

What should I be aware of?

I know there is Import Duty and then VAT on top but is there anything else I should be awre of?

Hoping to eventually import a set of Stance monotube coilovers from the states :D

I recently imported a throttle body from the USA and just got stung for import duty, VAT and a

this was discussed on the SOC although the country being japan.

a chap wanted rather a lot of stuff so questioned weather to fly over himself and make it a sort of shopping spree.

i questioned the logistics of getting it all back on a standard flight.

would relations abroad help in getting these items back cheaper?

i have a sister in the states thats all.

i wish i had the money to set a business up over here and keep going to the U.S. or japan for quality parts etc. :vsad:

I know no-one in the states... :( boo.

If this chap is buying quite abit of light stuff then standard flght is ok, if its a set of coilovers + more..he'll struggle with the luggage weight limit and get stung that way.

I believe if you get the parcel marked up as Trade Samples you can avoid paying tax on them! :twisted:

Not 100% sure! but a guy from work brought a lot of bits for his Cobra Replica from the states and I remember him saying about it.

You can also try "Warranty Replacement" or "Warranty Return" :wink:

I got a dump valve from Japan actually wrapped up in Birthday paper :D
