If your purely worried abou gaining time, then that I reckon you'll go quicker with just a set of tyres rather than the suspension and the road tyres!
On a test Sprint last year, circa 2.5km long, Andy Stevens gained 2 seconds a run by swapping to R888's from Goodyear Eagle F1's. same day, same temps etc..
tyre pressures
logan im hoping to do both just trying to find the rims etc and im willing to be patient to get the right set etc.
Gerry wont i get tyre movement with 215's on newage rims? Also what should I budget for a set of r888's and how do they last wear wise? Wondering as well whether anyone actually uses them day to day or not? The car only does 6k a year.

What do you mean by tyre movement Graham?
I've run the size for a couple of years without a problem. I have a set of newage rims that need a refurb but are straight if you're interested.
Best place for 888s is CAmskill afaik but worth a call.
With the correct pressures they last well
You could use them day to dday but why kill good tyres when you could get something cheaper

Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or hump it, piss on it and walk away!
