I understand what you are saying,
But the turbo doesnt spool because it gets hot, it spools because gas flows through it !!! The more heat you can keep in the better as this helps the gas to flow faster - hence why wrapping is such a good idea, but I certainly wouldnt advise people on trying to get the maximum EGT's they could without qualifying the argument.
Ask Mr Norris about what happens when people who dont know what EGT's can do play with your car !!!

I'm not saying a hot turbine spins quicker, just that there's more energy in the gases spinning the turbine. I also know that there are limits to an engine's and a turbo's life with excessive EGT.
Scott, help me out with an example of your own?! I bet you've played with EGT while keeping the other characteristics the same and measured the difference?

I think the change of the internals here, allows for a better friction co-efficient allowing the turbine and compressor to accelerate with less load, therefore increased velocity of the gas and more power with less lag. One thing I found when I had my standard tubbies up rated to steel internals and roller bearings was a very noticeable increase to boost in the lower rev range - the roller bearings were responsible for this - I would also replace the boost controller as the greddy can be adjusted to help in this area as well as getting rid of the big power step at 4k
Don't know if this helps but it might be a cheaper option and it is well tried and tested.
