That looks fantastic Jon! Your brother is a lucky devil. With a little detailing in that engine bay could it not be a real shower?

It is fantastic, such a joy to drive.
I've never been interested in detailing until now! I think i'll get a shit load of pleasure working on the Capri more than i've ever had working on my Scoob!
Work on the Scoob has always been a necessity rather than a passion!
Old skool ford vs jap crap, it's a no brainer :drool5:
Thanks Russ :)

mate the v6 is so simple its unreal, when i had to do a twin head gasket
change on our old race car it to me and my brother 6 hours from strip down
to getting the car running again and thats with taking a turbo kit off as well.

1 thing i would advise your brother to do is start it reguarly as the fuel metering
unit has a piston in the middle of it and this can get stuck if left for long
periods of doing nothing and also it helps keep you fuel preasure
regulator diafram supple as these can break up.

i have got rid of all our 2.8 v6 parts but gave them to a mate so ill
be able to sort you our with anything you need.

That is a really nice example :) I owned my V6 Sierra for years and loved the torque, lazy feel of the engine and the relaxed gearing :D. I also loved the peanuts running costs too
Off to browse various sites again............
Well done Jon. Who was the MX5 guy by the way?

Thanks, just wish I owned it!:frown:

Can't remember the guys name but there were MX5 track cars everywhere.
Link to his e-bay site, there's a couple for sale on there + a caterfield (or whatever the bloody horrible things are called).

Found this...

Fuuuuuuucccccck, should I buy it? It would mean the Scoob never ever see's the light of day again. Hey ho.

I've a slight confession to make, I've always thought the posts on here regarding old skool cars were a bit lame, but now I totally get it & I mean I totally get it 100%!
All I do for a job is PDI and fit accessories to brand new Toyota/Lexus cars and tbh despite the technology and the driver assists these cars have, they're just plain boring and have no soul whatsoever.
After driving the Capri back from London it all made sense and I had a Jake Elwood "Yes yes, Jesus H tap dancing christ...I have seen the light" moment & have decided that technology isn't always a good thing as it robs the driver of any feedback and most importantly the very task of driving the thing in the first place. I'm not sure how i'll afford it, but from now on it's old skool cool for me

Apologies if the above reads like total bollocks, i'm tired and pissed :Angel_anim:

Do it! I only sold my beloved Sierra was because of some scumbag, and a year on, still want one. They are compromised, but its a real change from the norm. In the digital age, analogue rules!

You can only get it if you agree to take it on track , if i can get a yank tank around Snetterton then a V6 capri has to go around :D . I also have an Impreza and i've never even thought about tracking it , i know it would be quicker and corner better but for me there's no fun factor . Pete:Chevy_anim:
