Hope you get it sorted mate.

So do you actually think anything is wrong or is it just a combination of the abbey chip etc putting more fuel through the system?

Gary how much is it just to get it plugged in and checked?

It is impossible to say what the correct afrs should be as it will depend how that chip runs, i.e you have different afr's for different objectives i.e a certain number for power and another for torque, getting something like the consult is a good idea.
From the way it sounds i wouldn't say you have a boost leak ian i agree the running is nasty when you have a leak, jumpy and on off in power delivery, did you check the o2/wideband sensor?? check the voltage across that as to me it sounds as if you have a faulty o2 sensor/wideband sensor.

If I had a faulty lamba sensor Alex would it not trigger the engine management light on the dash?

How can i find out what the voltage should be across the O2 sensor?

Thanks for all the advice, much appreciated.

A lot of the after market ECUs do not use the O2 sensors and run open loop all of the time.Do you know for sure it is the chip for the standard injectors and not for another set up fitted in error? I would think a loose pipe could be the problem otherwise

It is not an aftermarket ecu it is merely a piggyback style chip which is made by abbey motorsport which gives the correct fuelling and ignition for running 1bart on the stock turbos and injectors.
A loose pipe would give jerky driving i think and it drives fine.
Maybe the chip is just a bit to rich.

It could be a million things wrong from a faulty MAF, to bad earthing, to your fuel pressure being too high, or your ignition being retarded.

The O2 sensor gives a voltage between 0.1-1.0V or there abouts, its transition around stoich is rapid, so you can only really see if you're lean or rich, but not by any percentage of how much.

It might be worth back probing your MAF(s?) to see what voltage its giving at idle.

If I was you I'd go up to see Gary and get some proper diagnostics done, five minutes with the Consult will tell you more than you can guess.
If I was me I'd be using one of my systems :D And then I'd be off up to Gary to deal with the final calibration.
