Well i have never had any problems with NGK iridium plugs in numerous different cars including Subarus.
I had one heavy handed customer bring one back who must have damaged the tip when trying to adjust them. Also i have heard of problems with people trying to use the -11 plugs and then trying to get the gap down to 0.8 and the earth electrode fracturing.
I am aware that iridium is not actually quite as good as conductor and platignum or copper, but are much better for longevity which is a good idea with a plug change on some cars not being that straight forward like the Imprezas. Fto's use an Iridium plug in the rear bank under the manifold and platignums in the front and you change the fronts twice for each rear. They run fine and get 200bhp from a N/A 2.0L lump!
I put these few iridium plug problems down to poor installation.

Not very conclusive as that suggests the Iridium are more fragile than Platinum.
Trying to get the gap to 0.7 will traumatic now all this has been said

Well, service carried out. Oil and plugs in etc, the car is running really sweet now.
But i am now experiencing boost cut, never happened before. Not a great experience, only happens in the mornings and evenings when OAT is lower.
Is there a way of sorting this?

1st thing to try would be to clean the Boost solenoid (Drivers side suspension turret)
It is known that if you fill the oil up to full / slightly over full, then sometimes it will creep into the solenoid and cause it to block slightly and to cut the boost rougher than normal.
