I run the tein full flex with EDFC...
Quite harsh for the road, but not unbearable....
Great on track and with the EDFC you get instant change and feel...
I wouldn't fit without the EDFC TBH.
Whether they are the best, i'm not qualified to say...

Has anyone used Hotbits suspension?? Seems to be an upcoming name and Exe-Tc once, or still use soem of their bits supposidely :?:
EXE-TC
Intrax
Hotbits
All use the same cases for their road/track struts. However I have heard EXE-TC dealers claiming they are totally different internally.
Personally I love EXE-TC suspension but it is very expensive for the good stuff.
yagshamash!

Yes, been doing some reading on the MLR, tehy seem to be using it more than others. 2 Impreza's used ti on Time Attack last year.
The Tein is tempting tho due to the EDFC just purely as a practical car thats a compromise for road and track. as with tehse inverted Strut types you have to lie under the car to adjust them.....
But then, is the Exe-Tc and Hotbits etc got lots better damping than the Teins????
Exe-tc is just too expesnive for my needs, over 2k with top mounts....ouch :!:

Does EDFC apply to a single-adjuster? (ie. combined rebound-compression adjuster)
For the same extra money you could get struts with separate rebound and compression adjustment such as KW v3. Takes greater knowledge to set up, but doesn't suffer the inherent compromise of combined-adjustment.
Does anyone have laptime differences to back up the 'usefulness' of EDFC?

As you say, takes in-depth knowledge to use bump & Re-bound adjustement. Also takes time, which for example at a TA event is difficult to do on the day, so testing is required in advance.Andy916 wrote:Does EDFC apply to a single-adjuster? (ie. combined rebound-compression adjuster)

Therefore EDFC offers quick adjustments on track and instant results/feel for the driver.
However as you say this isn't necesarily the best suspension option, but is a great compromise for the enthusiast.
I'm sure many of us would struggle to have the knowledge to setup a suspension to it's optimum, with both spring rates, bump, re-bound, ride height, camber, toe, etc....
Take regular exercise, walk to you car!
Good points well made, Mike and Logan.
Have gone through the cycles of adjust/do a few laps/adjust again/do few more laps many times on a bike and it can indeed be difficult without a guru for guidance. Partly because of the stop-start nature of it all.
What spring rates are people running on their classic Imprezas? I've tried 6/4 kg/mm then went to 5/4 for a better track-road compromise. On my 'new' car (STi4) I'm about to fit 5/4 again, inverted single-adjustables (Gen2 Apex).
Can adjust the inverteds by reaching behind the wheel, rather than having to lie on the ground.
