Are these tyres pretty much track orientated .. I mean would they fair well on our roads or be a wet weather killer?.

Bladey and Rocket Ronnie both used the R888 at Snett in February, so a lot depends on the level of car control of the driver I guess. They should be fine for all except standing water and snow drifts :D

AlexB, former catalogue model of the year 2003, has these fitted to his mincy RX7

I hope they make a difference Stu - my spare tyres have got one track day left so will have to be replaced and if these are worth a bit more corner speed it will be interesting to see how I compare against the others against the clock. So long as I can hook up a good lap that is :?

This will be a very expensive 48 days :o

I am going to try and get these swapped before the trip up there. They are not so much of a problem on my car as they have larger bearing than frayz or maddog's but better safe than sorry.... cheers mate.

Hmm,

To be honest I dont really drive the car hard enough on the road to find that much of a difference - its monumentally crap most the time !!! However compared to the original Pirelli P-Zeros it came with they were like driving on buttered rubber bands, understeer for england and then a big dollop of oversteer as it bit.

The 888's were nice and friendly, pretty easy to do what you want with and confidence inspiring enough to do what ya like I guess. Im probably the wrong person to ask, I just prat about !!! :D :D

48's are meant to be awesome, but I have heard that the 888 are at least as good. Mine are still ok after a couple of drift laps and about 1000 miles, I guess around 1/2 life except the left rear which is about 1/4. Although I could probably totally destroy them in about 20 minutes if I had some good brakes, a bit of bravery and wanted to do some properly fast laps.

J.
I have issues !!! :ack2:....I used to be average, now I reminisce !!!

Going to go with the 48's

J- would you say that medium compound would give me the quickest amount of grip? ie. heat up quickly if so how long before they start going over? or shall I go with the MH in the knowledge that they would last a session before going off?

I think the A048's are probably your best bet even if they were the same price.
